What was specified
Yangphen flexible stone as a dark mineral skin: textured arrival and private-room walls, column wraps at the stair core and dining hall, wood-grain block walls, and a backlit amber marble-look volume. The interior architecture is by others. Yangphen Stone supplied the sheet.
Why not slab stone?
The stair columns show the sheet joints on purpose — a wrap, not a carved pier. Hospitality walls wanted a washable stone face on a light build-up, including wet-adjacent rooms and a street plinth that could not take thick stone.
What to request
Ask for dark slate, cultured-stone, wood-grain, and marble-look samples from the current board, plus a column-wrap sample. Fire rating and wash-down notes are confirmed on the data sheet.
