Timber grain as a mineral sheet, not a weather cycle

Timber on a facade asks for a maintenance cycle: grey, cup, oil, replace. Specifiers who want the grain without that cycle often land on porcelain planks, which are still rigid, or on printed films, which are not stone. A mineral flexible stone sheet is a third path: the sawn or burnt face is in the mineral, and the sheet is still cladding.

Diagonal sawn, charred, and cast are not one product

Diagonal Sawn Timber runs the tooth of the cut on a bias, so the wall has direction without reading as a floor. Charred Timber borrows the dry grooves of burnt wood. Timber Cast keeps shuttering boards and knots as a formwork memory. They sit as separate looks on the board. Do not write them as stains of a single SKU.

In the mill, a full-height sawn panel is a dark mineral sheet you can roll and stand. That is the evidence of flexibility. It is not a project photograph, and we will not caption it as one.

Exterior, soffit, and interior

Courtyard walls, soffits, and hospitality interiors are the usual places. Exterior use follows the weathering band on the current data sheet — this journal will not invent a UV number. Fire class is the same rule: sheet, not memory.

Joints on a timber look should respect the grain direction. A diagonal sawn face will show a badly placed joint as a break in the cut. Draw the joint plan with the mill-run sample on the table.

Specify Diagonal Sawn Timber, Charred Timber, or Timber Cast from the look board, then ask for the current data sheet with the substrate named.
